Alabama State Championship

One member club hosts the Section Championship each year, chosen by vote of the Executive Committee. Division winners who are Alabama residents earn Section Champion titles (Bylaws Art. 10), and placement here is the primary factor in Nationals slot applications.

How the Championship works

  • Host. One member club hosts, with help from the others. The Executive Committee picks the host and the Match Director, approves championship policies, and sets the terms between the Section and the host club (Art. 10.A.1).
  • Date. Set to avoid conflicts with other major matches in Area 6, and billed as a USPSA Section Championship under USPSA rules.
  • Titles. The top finisher in each recognized division earns the Section Champion title, restricted to Alabama residents who are USPSA members in good standing (Art. 3.B, 10.A.4). Non-residents remain eligible for High Overall awards.
  • Proceeds. Retained by the host club after activity fees and expenses, with a portion returned to shooters as prizes (Art. 10.A.3). Trophies and plaques are the host's responsibility (10.A.2).
  • Nationals slots. Awarded by application, with placement at this match the primary factor. See Nationals slots.
