Elections
The Section Coordinator is elected by the member clubs, one vote per club. USPSA requires an election at least every two years; the Alabama bylaws set a one-year term running 1 April to 31 March.

Who may serve
- Current USPSA membership (at least annual) throughout the term.
- NROI Range Officer (Level I) or higher certification.
- Policy §3.2. Losing either qualification vacates the office.
How the vote works
- Held at an Executive Committee meeting, normally the annual meeting at the Section Championship (Bylaws Art. 6, 7.D).
- One vote per member club, cast by the club president or their designated representative (Art. 5, 8). No one may represent more than one club.
- A majority of the committee is a quorum (Art. 6.B).
- The Section Coordinator serves until they resign, relinquish the office, a successor is elected, or the Area Director removes them for cause (Policy §3.3).
Special elections and vacancies
- A majority of club presidents may call a special election at any time (Policy §3.5(b)).
- If the office becomes vacant, the Area 6 Director appoints an interim Section Coordinator until an election is held (Policy §3.5(a); Bylaws Art. 7.D).
- A vacancy lasting more than 12 months without an appointment is grounds for dissolving the Section (Policy §8.1(d)). So is failing to hold required elections (§8.1(c)).
Paperwork after an election
- Report the result to the Area 6 Director and the USPSA national office.
- Send USPSA the current bylaws (required at every election, Policy §2.6(b)).
- Transfer Section funds and records to the incoming Section Coordinator by 15 January of the new term (Bylaws Art. 7.E).
- Update the officers table on this site and post a notice.
